Pond Doctor maintains backyard trout ponds around Bozeman and southwest MT. Trout is a relatively sensitive species of freshwater fish that require pinpoint water parameters in order to thrive. It is important to keep your trout pond tuned to its very best year-round.
Pond Doctor can perform a water analysis and, based on the results, make a recommendation for the necessary cleaning and treatments to maintain an environment optimal for trout health. Several different factors can affect the parameters of pond water especially excess aquatic vegetation. We provide aquatic vegetation removal for algae, pond weed, cattails, lily pads, and others.

Founders Bio
Meet Kyle RJ Jones
Born & raised in Bozeman, Kyle is a true Montana native. He was blessed to grow up always living around lakes, large ponds, & trout streams—including Middle Creek—which ignited his passion for improving & designing water for thriving trout habitat. His family put in a large pond on their property in the early 2000s & it became a fun recreational escape near the home. His parents have since always had a spring creek running through their backyard.
After debuting his several-year stint running a small team with a focus solely in the trout pond construction industry all around Montana, Pond Doctor was founded in early 2018, by KJ, to be the first to also offer unique, pond & stream maintenance services around Bozeman and southwest Montana. At just 21 years old, Jones founded PD & led the initiative to rapidly take over as the leading service provider around Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, & beyond geared around the slogan 'everything water'.
Services have since expanded to offer the best water design & restoration services all around the northwest. Millions of square feet of durable geotextile liner & protective layers have been installed by the PD all around his home state, over the past 10 years. Hundreds of beautiful water feature installation & restoration projects have been completed by PD. Other local & national outfits have tried, without luck, to replicate the offerings of this original, boots-on-the-ground nature of our local, grassroots water services company.
In recent years, large spring creek projects, deep trout pond dredging & various scales of restoration jobs, including installation and remodeling of smaller, backyard water features, have been a main pillar of the company's offerings. Water maintenance & improvement continues to be the main offering of PD in Montana & beyond.
The original philosophy of the PD company continues to focus on developing the healthiest, controlled ecosystems for swimming & recreation, while also continuing to develop havens that grow the largest, thriving trout around, all in backyard and ranch settings.
Kyle was an active graduate from Carroll College in Helena. He studied Finance and Entrepreneurship and is passionate about all realms of business. While pursuing his own ventures, Kyle was also an active leader in the college's Entrepreneurship program and received Carroll's first-ever Certificate of Entrepreneurship. His public speaking & knowledge of politics blossomed at university. He now manages a complicated, personal portfolio of various investment products.
Kyle enjoys all of the year-round outdoor activities that the Treasure State has to offer including skiing, snowboarding, archery hunting, boating, and always a bit of fishing around Montana. He is also an avid sauna and steam room user and enjoys novice ocean surfing around the globe, in addition to exploring the underwater world as a PADI Certified Diver. He has completed various "drift" & "anchor line" dives to ocean depths over 105 ft, including WWII planes, sunken boats, & barge wrecks. Experience with such technical diving now transfers these invaluable skills to local, freshwater water bodies for installing, restoring, & repairing large ponds in the NW.

Kyle also founded and manages Pedenza.com. A Pedenza is a counterbalancing wine bottle holder that suspends an individual bottle of wine in midair through the science of physics. In 2016, he put together a woodshop in Bozeman to launch Pedenza. Over the course of several months, Kyle designed and engineered Pedenza's products from the ground up. He settled on the name Pedenza, which means slope in Italian, to capture his brand because it is representative of his family's Italian background and describes the design of his piece as the slope is the secret to the balance of Pedenza wine bottle holders.
Ky launched his first business, BuckyBoards.com, in 2015 selling self-balancing scooters (hoverboards) online. Kyle coined the nickname "Buck" during his first business venture and sold the BuckyBoards company later that year at the peak of the short hoverboard fad.
He has since shifted his focus to other projects including real estate and local, service-based development projects.
